Community Wide
Fiber-To-The-Home
Deeply Digital partnered with the City of Cortez to develop a comprehensive Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployment strategy designed to deliver reliable, future-ready broadband to homes and businesses throughout the community. The project combined engineering, outside plant (OSP) design, construction planning, GIS asset management, and long-term operational strategy into a scalable network built for decades of growth.
Project Overview
Delivering End-to-End Fiber Infrastructure for the City of Cortez
The City of Cortez set out to build a future-ready broadband network capable of delivering reliable, high-speed fiber internet to homes and businesses throughout the community. Deeply Digital developed a comprehensive Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployment strategy that combined network engineering, outside plant (OSP) design, construction planning, GIS asset management, and municipal coordination into one cohesive solution.
From backbone infrastructure and neighborhood distribution routes to individual customer connections, the network was purpose-built for reliability, efficiency, and long-term scalability, creating a foundation for multi-gigabit internet service, economic development, and the community’s future connectivity needs.
Infrastructure Spotlight
What is Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH)?
Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), also referred to as Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) or FTTX—extends fiber optic infrastructure directly to homes and businesses, creating a reliable, high-capacity connection capable of supporting today’s bandwidth demands while remaining scalable for future technologies.
Unlike legacy copper networks, FTTH infrastructure provides greater reliability, symmetrical speeds, and significantly more capacity, making it the foundation for modern communities and economic growth.

Phase 1
Community Backbone
Developed the core backbone of the citywide FTTH network by establishing primary fiber routes and infrastructure capable of serving homes, businesses, and future network expansion.
Phase 2
Network Expansion
Expand the network throughout the community, extending fiber access to additional neighborhoods and commercial areas while supporting long-term scalability and regional connectivity.
Project Successes
Community-Wide Fiber Connectivity
Designed a comprehensive Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network capable of delivering reliable, high-speed fiber internet directly to homes and businesses throughout the City of Cortez.
End-To-End Network Planning
Combined engineering, outside plant (OSP) design, GIS asset management, construction planning, and municipal coordination into a unified deployment strategy, streamlining every phase of the project.
Municipal Partnership
Worked closely with city stakeholders to develop a broadband solution aligned with the community’s long-term infrastructure and connectivity goals.
Project Impact
Reliable broadband has become essential infrastructure. Projects like the City of Cortez FTTH deployment help communities improve economic development, support local businesses, expand educational opportunities, strengthen public services, and prepare for future technology needs through scalable fiber infrastructure.
Connecting Communities
Deeply Digital has designed and supported similar Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployments across Western Colorado, including:
Grand Junction, CO
Delta, CO
Ouray County, CO
West End of Montrose County, CO
Each project demonstrates our ability to scale fiber infrastructure to meet the unique needs of municipalities, utilities, and growing communities.
